On the 5th of July 1976, Libertad Mariposa was born in Caracas, Venezuela, the fourth child and second daughter to Children of God Missionaries, John and Arlyn Bottom. The English translation being Liberty Butterfly, given to her because she was born on Liberty Day. She is a younger sister of River Phoenix, Rain Phoenix, Joaquin Phoenix and an older sister to Summer Phoenix.Over the years, she has worked in Costa Rica, being head-chef at her father's vegan restaurant in the early 90s and even opened up a vegan pie shop. She was an avid dancer, but quit after her second child was born.Being the only Phoenix sibling that no longer acts, Liberty is now a devoted mother to her three children Rio, Indigo and Scarlette and now resides in Florida, working on her clothing label, LP Originals. Liberty can sometimes be seen helping Rain with her band, the papercranes.
